Dr. Helen Caldicott
A Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Caldicott for decades has been a strong voice for peace and sound environmental policies. The Australian was instrumental in founding Physicians for Social Responsibility in the U.S. and Women’s Action for Nuclear Disarmament, which has been renamed as Women's Action for New Directions. Her most recent book, "The New Nuclear Danger: George W. Bush’s Military-Industrial Complex," warns about the growing danger of nuclear war. Walter Cronkite hails her work as “a timely warning, at a critical moment in world history.”

Captain Paul Watson
Oceans activist Watson played key roles in the founding of Greenpeace and Sea Shepherds and remains a lifelong environmental activist who champions marine issues. Watson, a longtime Sierra Club member, currently serves on the board of directors for the nation's biggest environmental organization. His recent book "Seal Wars: Twenty-Five Years on the Front Lines With the Harp Seals," spins a firsthand account of the confrontations and adventures during his many campaigns aimed at defending seals.

Bry Myown
Bry Myown is a volunteer with the Sierra Club and is a longtime observer of Long Beach politics. She is a columnist in the Long Beach area weekly, View from the Hill. She is also an intervenor before FERC on behalf of Long Beach Citizens for Utility Reform and a member organization of the Ninth Circuit plaintiff Californians for Renewable Energy.
